How to study in the UK ?
Guide and Tips about Studying in the UK
Why have I included studying at the end ?
Well I believe if you manage to settle
down all
other issues then it provides for a very comfortable and peaceful study
environment
Try and go to all your classes, and be nice to your lecturers
(specially if I am the one teaching !). If you are on a student Visa,
in the UK it's requirement to attend at least 80% of your
classes. If you are in a situation where you think the
lecturer
is clueless (well you didn't read the section on this web site about
selecting lecturers, did you now ?), still it's better to go and have a
nap in the class rather than not going at all !
One of the major problems I had was getting used to assignments. Most of my previous studies were based on exams, where I studied last minute (Just a few days before the exam) and always managed to get good marks!. By the way you shouldn't follow my method for any exam !. With assignments you have to work daily, at least 5 minutes a day. You really have to talk to your lecturers and tutors about what they expect from the assignment. This would create a very good impression which will be very useful later :).
