Where to stay while you are a student ?
Guide to selecting accommodation for University students
Student Accommodation
You have many options here, so choose wisely !. Most of the available options are listed below.
- You can stay at University accommodation, A lot more expensive compared to what is available outside. Obviously if you are lazy like me, this is the best option as you don't have to walk far to get to the classes.
- You can ask the University accommodation office to give you list of recommended private landlords, this is a lot cheaper than University accommodation, and might be a bit far away from your classes. But if you can lucky and go early you can something close by !.
- Go and ask the University Student services advisor for available rented student accommodation. This would be another cheap option.
- If you are going with some friends, all of you can rent a house and share. This is the cheapest option but arranging rent etc will be a bit complicated as soon as you get here.
- But the best option is if you know someone, like a friend, in the UK who can put you up (and put up with you !).
This is a very simple thing to arrange, simplest thing to do is to book University accommodation before you leave your country. If you are more adventurous they you can go for accommodation hunting once you get here.
